The summer of 1999 I worked in a box factory building software boxes for microsoft, I took all the money I saved from that summer job and bought my first 35mm SLR camera. That fall I took my first photography class: I was 19 years old and it changed my life forever.

A student of Steven Fitch, David Schienbauam, and Nancy Sutor, I learned to take pictures the old fashioned way, using a hatbox and a pinhole. The darkroom was magical. I would spend hours listening to mixtapes while printing black and white images.

Now that photography has become a less technical and more creative art, I have been shooting exclusively on my iPhone 3G for the past year. All the images on my website are pure, once I push the button the image is created; so this series of images are unphotoshoped.
All the magic happens in the camera.

My photographs are inspired by Roy De Carava, Joel Peter Witken, Gregory Crewdson and Cindy Sherman. The images on this website where created with different types of cameras, digital and film.
